Hotels in Puerto de Mogán: where to stay in the harbour village

Puerto de Mogán has one small four-star hotel right on the harbour, two LIVVO and Billy's apartment complexes 50 metres from the beach, and two large resorts on the edge of the village.

The most central place to sleep in Puerto de Mogán is the four-star Hotel LIVVO Puerto de Mogán, a 56-room hotel beside the marina, and next to it sit two apartment complexes (LIVVO's own and Billy's, 79 and 75 apartments) that LIVVO places 50 metres from the beach. If you want a large resort with a spa and several pools rather than a village base, the Cordial Mogán Playa and the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa are the two names to look at; check each hotel's official page for current details, as the figures here come from booking listings.

Puerto de Mogán is the harbour village at the end of the south-west coast road, about 16 km (roughly 21 minutes without traffic) from Arguineguín. It has canals, whitewashed houses and a working marina, and visitors often call it "Little Venice", though that is a popular nickname rather than an official one. Anyone comparing it with the other bases should read Arguineguín, Puerto Rico or Puerto de Mogán: which base suits you? first. The village itself has its own guide.

Hotel LIVVO Puerto de Mogán: the harbour-side four-star

LIVVO describes this as a four-star hotel with 56 rooms, certified by the Biosphere responsible-tourism scheme. It is a small hotel with character rather than a resort, which is why it suits people who come for the village and the harbour and not for a hotel programme.

Room types range from compact doubles with a French balcony to doubles with a balcony or terrace overlooking the marina, rooms with a terrace over the pool, front sea-view doubles and junior suites. Breakfast is a buffet at the Club de Mar restaurant, and dinner is served there too; LIVVO gives the usual hours as 07:30 to 11:00 for breakfast and 18:00 to 21:30 for dinner, subject to season. The Rooftop Sunset terrace looks over the marina and the bay, and there is a direct staircase to the sea.

There is one thing to weigh up. You are staying in a village centre, so evenings are the village's evenings: harbour terraces, fresh-fish restaurants and little else. That is the point of Puerto de Mogán, but it is not a place for a hotel-based entertainment week.

The two apartment complexes next to the harbour

Apartamentos LIVVO Puerto de Mogán has 79 apartments in two categories, Estándar Premium and Superior Premium. All have a kitchen, a separate bedroom and a sun terrace on the roof of the building. The Superior apartments also get access to the facilities of the neighbouring hotel, including its pool, which can be heated in winter, and its restaurant.

Billy's Puerto de Mogan Apartments by LIVVO has 75 apartments in a central position, with air conditioning, a full kitchen with washing machine, free Wi-Fi and a safe. The complex has a freshwater pool with a children's area. For a self-catering week with a family, this is the simpler of the two. Whether a kitchen is worth having is the subject of apartments, aparthotels or hotels.

Cordial Mogán Playa and the Radisson: the large resorts

Hotel Cordial Mogán Playa, on Avenida Los Marrero, is a large complex in Canarian-village style, listed by booking platforms as four-star, with a spa and several restaurants. Cordial Mogán Valle, an apartment complex, is listed on booking sites for the same avenue. The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Gran Canaria Mogán is a separate large resort that Radisson lists as five-star, with a spa and two pools.

Treat star categories, room counts and restaurant details for these two as unconfirmed, and read each hotel's official page before booking. Distances matter here too: from a large resort you may need a short walk or a drive to reach the harbour, so check the map for the exact route.

The other Radisson, Radisson Blu Resort Gran Canaria, is at La Verga in Patalavaca; do not confuse the two. That one is covered in the best hotels in Arguineguín and Patalavaca.

Beach, harbour and market on your doorstep

The beach at Puerto de Mogán is a few steps from the LIVVO properties; see Puerto de Mogán beach. No Mogán beach holds a Blue Flag for 2026–27, though the marina at Puerto de Mogán does. The village's municipal market is on Friday and the craft market on Monday, which are the two days when a central room puts you next to the action; details are on the Puerto de Mogán markets page.

Boat trips and whale- and dolphin-watching depart from the port, as LIVVO notes, and our guide to boats from Arguineguín covers the coastal routes. For the wildlife rules see dolphin and whale watching.

Getting here and back

Global's line 91 runs Las Palmas – airport – Arguineguín – Puerto de Mogán. AENA lists the airport fare to Puerto de Mogán as €6.80, with a journey of about 60 minutes. Lines 91 and 33 both run along the coast, so you can reach Arguineguín, Patalavaca and Puerto Rico without a car; see buses in and from Arguineguín. The airport transfer guide compares the other options.

By sea, Líneas Salmón lists adult fares between Arguineguín and Puerto de Mogán of €15 single and €21 return; confirm the current timetable with the operator. The sister site Canary Guide has a Puerto Mogán resort page if you want another view of the village.

Who should pick Puerto de Mogán, and who should not

It suits people who want a pretty harbour village, restaurants within a few steps, and a quiet evening. It does not suit anyone who wants a long, wide beach right outside the door, or a large resort pool scene with entertainment. For the second, Puerto Rico and Amadores are closer to the mark: see hotels in Puerto Rico and Amadores. If you would rather live like a local near the Tuesday market and the shops, where to stay in Arguineguín covers the town itself.
