About Arguineguin.org

Arguineguin.org started in 2012 as a small English-language guide to Arguineguín, the fishing town on the south-west coast of Gran Canaria. Most of what was written about the town then was in Norwegian, Swedish or Spanish. That is still largely true, and it is the reason the site exists: to give English-speaking visitors, overwinterers and people thinking of moving here a practical, honest guide to the town and the coast around it.

The editor: Terje Moy

Terje Moy is the editor of Arguineguin.org and responsible for everything published on it. He has visited Arguineguín many times over the years and knows the town both as a holidaymaker and from the perspective of the many Scandinavians who spend the winter here. He also edits a group of other travel and consumer guides published by Nordic Webinvest Ltd, among them guides to the Canary Islands, Málaga and Thailand.

How the guide is written

Every guide is researched and written for readers. Practical facts – bus routes, prices, opening hours, rules for residents, health care – are checked against official sources and the operators themselves, and the sources are listed where they matter. Where a fact changes often, we say so and tell you where to check it. You can read more in our editorial policy.

Independence and funding

The site is funded by advertising through Google AdSense. We do not accept payment for reviews, and restaurants, hotels and tour operators cannot buy a place in our lists. When we recommend something, it is because we think it is worth your time.

Publisher

Arguineguin.org is published by Nordic Webinvest Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom (company number 12333920, registered in England and Wales).
