Editorial policy

This page explains how the guides on Arguineguin.org are researched, written and kept up to date.

Sources

We use primary sources wherever they exist: the Spanish and Canary Islands governments, the Mogán town council, the Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the island bus company Global, the Canary Islands health service and the operators of boats, attractions and other services. For rules that affect travellers from the UK, we use GOV.UK and the NHS. Where we rely on a secondary source, we say so. Important sources are listed at the end of the guide they support.

What we check before we publish

Dates

Every guide shows the date it was first published. If we later make a real update – new facts, new sections, corrected information – the guide also shows the date of that update. Small fixes such as typing errors or a moved link do not change the date. Several guides were first published on the earlier version of this site and keep their original publication date.

Some guides touch on health care, insurance, residence, property and tax. They are written as general information to help you understand the system and ask the right questions. They are not personal advice. Rules change, and your own situation matters – check with the authority or a qualified professional before you make a decision.

Independence

We do not accept payment, free stays or meals in return for coverage. Advertising on the site is placed by Google and is kept separate from the editorial content.

Corrections

If you find an error, please tell us. We correct factual errors as quickly as we can, and significant corrections are reflected in the update date.

Photographs

Photographs come from Unsplash, Pexels, Pixabay, Flickr and Wikimedia Commons, used under their licences. Photographers and licences are listed on the image credits page, and where a licence requires it, the credit is also shown next to the photograph.
