Water parks near Arguineguín: Aqualand Maspalomas and Lago Taurito compared

Two water parks serve the south-west: Aqualand Maspalomas, the big one (adult from €32 online, €41 at the gate), and Lago Taurito, a seawater park in Mogán that costs less. Both open daily; check Aqualand's calendar for closed days.

There are two proper water parks within reach of Arguineguín. Aqualand Maspalomas is the large slide park inland of Maspalomas, with a one-day adult ticket at €41 at the gate or from €32 online in 2026. Lago Taurito is the smaller seawater park in Taurito, in Mogán, with an adult day ticket of €12 from 16 September and €19 in the summer peak. Both open daily, so the choice is about budget, ages and how you will get there.

Neither is on a direct bus from Arguineguín that suits every day, which is the practical catch: this page spells out the options. Another family-day attraction nearby is Palmitos Park, which shares a combined ticket with Aqualand.

Aqualand Maspalomas

Aqualand is the island's big water park, on the Maspalomas side, and it has just added a new themed family area, Skull Bay, for 2026. Attractions include the Hurakan, Tukakame and Misol-ha slides in its adrenaline area, a Kidzworld section for younger children and "Chill out and play" zones. Some rides have height restrictions.

Hours. The park shows open every day, 10:00 to 17:00, and 10:00 to 18:00 in July and August; the water attractions close 30 minutes before the park. The site's calendar shows some closed days, so look at it before you set off rather than assuming a day is open.

Prices for 2026 (non-residents, from the park's tickets page, checked October 2026):

Babies aged 0 to 2 (under 90 cm) are free. The online one-day price depends on the date you choose, and the page shows the lowest. A sunbed is not included in the ticket and parking at the private car park costs extra. Canary Islands residents pay less, on production of their ID.

Lago Taurito

Lago Taurito (the Lagos de Taurito Park) is in Taurito, at Calle Alhambra, in the municipality of Mogán, west of Puerto Rico. The park describes itself as the island's only water park filled with sea water. It has a kamikaze slide, a roller-coaster slide, multi-lane racing slides, a Spacebowl, a giant pool and a mini-park for small children; one slide, the FreeFall, was shown as temporarily closed in October 2026.

Hours. The park opens from 10:00 to 18:00, 365 days a year, with the slides open from 10:30 to 17:30. Customer parking is €10 a day.

Prices from the park's own page, October 2026:

The park charges €1 less for adults who book online, and says no changes or returns are possible. The page carries several overlapping offers dated 2025 and 2026, so read it carefully on the day you book. It is the cheaper, smaller choice, and for young children it is the easier day.

If you have teenagers who want the biggest slides, Aqualand is the place. For young children, or a half-day on a budget, Lago Taurito. For a mix of animals and slides in one trip, the combined ticket with Palmitos is there, but one park per day is a good pace.

Getting to Aqualand from Arguineguín

Aqualand's own page says the buses are Global's line 45 (from Playa del Inglés, Bahía Feliz and San Agustín) and line 70 (from Puerto de Mogán, Puerto Rico and Faro Maspalomas). Line 70 stops in Arguineguín, and Global's sheet lists an "Aqualand" stop. The sheet shows these departures:

Those are the times at the start of the line, and the sheet is dated 2023–24, so check the current version on Global's line 70 page. Journey time to Aqualand is not published; the route winds through Meloneras and Maspalomas, so allow a long ride. Because the first useful bus only leaves the start in the morning and the last bus back is mid-afternoon, a bus day is short. A taxi or hire car gives you the full opening hours; see taxis in Arguineguín and buses in and from Arguineguín.

Getting to Lago Taurito from Arguineguín

Taurito lies west of Arguineguín, on the way to Puerto de Mogán. Global's line 70 sheet lists a Taurito stop, but the morning departures run the other way, away from Taurito, and the afternoon ones start at Palmitos Park, so line 70 does not suit a day trip to Taurito from Arguineguín. A practical bus route is line 39 to its terminus at Playa del Cura, the bay before Taurito, then a short taxi onward. By car or taxi it is on the way to Puerto de Mogán. On the same coast, see Playa del Cura and Taurito for what else is there.

Season and sun

Both parks stay open through winter. In January and February the nearest official weather station (AEMET, Gran Canaria airport) shows daytime highs of around 21 °C and the sea at roughly 19 to 20 °C (secondary data). Summer is the main season: July and August are the hottest and sunniest, so pack sunscreen, a rash vest for small children and a hat; see sun, heat and UV on Gran Canaria. Winter water-park days suit the warmer months of October and November better than January. For other ideas see Arguineguín with kids and rainy and windy days. A different kind of kids' outing is the Angry Birds Activity Park in Puerto Rico, which is not a water park; its own site lists day passes from €9. Our sister site compares the island's water parks in water parks in the Canaries.
