Without a car you can reach Las Palmas on the direct line 91, Puerto de Mogán on lines 91 and 33, and Playa del Inglés on lines 33 and 39. The mountains and inland valleys are the hard ones.

You can make good day trips from Arguineguín without a car. Line 91 goes direct to Las Palmas and west to Puerto de Mogán, line 33 links Puerto de Mogán, Puerto Rico and Playa del Inglés, line 39 reaches Amadores and Playa del Cura, and line 90 runs towards the Maspalomas lighthouse and the airport. Roque Nublo, Soria and Cercados de Espino are the trips where the bus stops helping. Global is the island's main bus operator; this page matches places to lines, and buses in and from Arguineguín covers stops, payment and cards.

Two lines that turn up in older lists do not serve Arguineguín: line 32 (Playa del Inglés – Puerto de Mogán, via Taurito) and line 38 (Puerto de Mogán – La Aldea). Do not wait for them at a stop in town.

Las Palmas on line 91

The 91 is the "directo" between Las Palmas and Puerto de Mogán and stops in Arguineguín. In Las Palmas it serves Estación Santa Catalina (platform 21) and, on most variants, Estación San Telmo (platform 12). Global's school-term weekday timetable has the first departure from Las Palmas at 05:55 and the last at 21:00, and from Puerto de Mogán at 05:55 and 22:15; those are times at the ends of the line, not at Arguineguín. Saturday, holiday and school-holiday timetables are separate. A full day in the capital is realistic, but check the last bus home before booking dinner. The city itself is on a day in Las Palmas. Global's fare for Arguineguín to Las Palmas is not published as a fixed table; enter your stops in Global's fare search or ask the driver. For scale, the airport to Santa Catalina costs €2.95 and the airport to Arguineguín €4.95.

Puerto de Mogán, Puerto Rico and the coast to the west

Puerto de Mogán is the classic half-day by bus: lines 91 and 33 both go there, and you can come back by Líneas Salmón boat for a change (€15 single from Arguineguín, per the operator). The harbour village has a Friday market and a Monday craft market; see Puerto de Mogán and the Puerto de Mogán markets. On the way you pass Patalavaca and Puerto Rico, which has a farmers' and craft market on alternate Sundays: Puerto Rico. Line 39 is the one for hopping along the beaches, as it stops at Puerto Rico and Amadores and ends at Playa del Cura. Global shows hourly weekday departures on line 39 and no weekend service on the page. See the Amadores beach page and Playa del Cura and Taurito.

Playa del Inglés and the Maspalomas dunes

Line 33 and line 39 link Arguineguín with Playa del Inglés. Global's page for line 33 showed a Saturday and holiday timetable of about every 30 minutes from 09:25 to 17:55 in both directions, and no weekday times, so look at the line page for the day you travel. Line 90 stops at the Faro de Maspalomas, near the dunes. Line 90 runs roughly hourly; Global's page lists the last bus from Playa del Cura towards Telde at 22:00, with a gap between 20:15 and 22:00. For what to do when you get there, see the Maspalomas dunes, and for water parks water parks near Arguineguín.

Palmitos Park and the mountains: where the bus runs out

Line 45 runs from Bahía Feliz to Palmitos Park but does not serve Arguineguín, so reaching the park means a change; Global's journey planner will show a route for your date. For a family day it may be worth paying for a taxi or a tour. See Palmitos Park. For Roque Nublo you need a free reservation, there is no roadside parking, and the shuttle bus (line 18) starts from Cruz de los Llanos, so the trip by public transport takes several legs and is a long day: Roque Nublo and the mountains. Many people book a tour instead (excursions and island tours), and the best day trips from Arguineguín ranks all of the options.

Paying and planning, in short

Bus out, boat back. For Puerto de Mogán, take the 91 or 33 along the coast road and return on the Líneas Salmón boat (or the other way round) for two views of the coast in one trip. Check the boat timetable first, because the last sailings leave in the late afternoon.
